Independent Publishers and NGOs Zone: "Reading Fashion"(讀字Fashion)
This year, the Indie Publishers Association of Taiwan and NGO groups in the Independent Publishers and NGOs Zone are embracing a fashion-forward concept! The space transforms books into stars on a runway, featuring backstage setups and press conference scenes designed to captivate visitors and keep them engaged.
The 2025 Indie Publishers Association of Taiwan presents "Reading Fashion"(讀字Fashion), a showcase that gives beautifully crafted books the stage they deserve. This fashion-inspired literary event includes a towering 2-meter LCD screen wall to create a striking runway atmosphere, while the lecture area transforms into an understated, luxurious stage where creators confidently present their works. Visitors can explore special book signing areas, illuminated photo zones perfect for social media moments, and interactive book displays featuring instant photo machines for a fun and immersive experience. Staying true to the spirit of fashion, newly published books (within two years) are not offered at discounts, emphasizing their high-quality craftsmanship and value.
The NGO Zone, themed "Spotlight on Reading"(閱讀聚光燈), brings to life the journey of social movements—from behind-the-scenes efforts to public engagement. A backstage-inspired setting symbolizes the preparation and hard work of activists, complete with dressing tables, makeup kits, and wardrobe spaces, representing the process of shaping ideas into impactful actions. Photos on the walls reveal the inspirations and internal discussions of social movement organizers, offering visitors an authentic glimpse into the dedication behind each public moment—capturing the essence of "a minute on stage, ten years of effort behind the scenes."(台上一分鐘,台下十年功)
The press conference area highlights how NGOs bring issues into the public eye. This space features microphone stands and a "brand wall"(品牌牆) displaying the logos of participating groups, blending activism with contemporary culture. As a core element of NGO work, the space also hosts lectures that transform complex and challenging issues into accessible, impactful language. Visitors will feel as though they’ve stepped into a live press event, gaining an up-close understanding of the passion and effort that drive social movements.
