Calmann-Lévy
Founded in 1836, is one of the oldest French publishers. Responsible for bringing acclaim to popular fiction with such authors as Balzac, Flaubert, Hugo and Stendhal, in the XXth century it turned to non-fiction and essays publishing in French works as Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl and Darkness at Noon by Arthur Koestler. Today, Calmann-Lévy is a popular trade publisher, with a varied and eclectic list of authors including Guillaume Musso, Pierre Lemaitre, Jean-Christophe Rufin, Atiq Rahimi, Michael Connelly, Donna Leon, Donato Carrisi, Yann Queffélec, Marie-Bernadette Dupuy, Greta Thunberg, Antony Beevor and many more, in a wide variety of genres such as French and foreign fiction, literature, detective novels, essays and key documents. Since 2018, Calmann-Lévy is the third French publisher of General Litterature. Several books published by Calmann-Levy have been adapted to TV and cinema.
