Celebrating its 138th anniversary in 2024, Chuokoron-Shinsha started off by launching the leading opinion magazine Chuokoron in 1887, followed by Fujinkoron, the magazine for women, in 1916. “Chuko Shinsho” and “Chuko Bunko” were launched in 1962 and 1973 respectively. After joining the Yomiuri Group in 1999 to a fresh start, “Chuko Classics” and “Chuko Shinsho LaClef” were launched in 2001. From “Junichiro Tanizaki Complete Works” to web media “Fujinkoron.jp” and “Chuokoron.jp,” a wide range of quality publishing is offered. In 2021, 52 Hertz no Kujiratachi won the much-coveted Booksellers’ Award Grand Prize.
