The Portuguese exhibit showcases 6 winning titles of 4 important Portuguese book awards, including 3 picture books which won the Portuguese Illustration Prize, a winner in the Fiction category of the 2017 PEN Club Prize, a Fernando Namora Prize winning novel, and a poetry collection that won the 2017 PEN Club Prize.
Portuguese Writers Association Literary Prize is the oldest and most prestigious literary prize awarded by an independent association in Portugal. It has distinguished some of the most important Portuguese novelists: José Cardoso Pires (the first author who won this prize), José Saramago (the Portuguese Nobel prize for literature), António Lobo Antunes, Vergílio Fereira, but to mention some of them. The PEN club Portuguese literary prizes are also highly recognized in the Portuguese literary scene. They select winners in the Poetry, Fiction, and Essay categories.
