At Opening of French Pavilion at TIBE2025, Director Wang Hsiu-Yin Honored with the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres

The 2025 Taipei International Book Exhibition (TIBE) opened grandly on February 4, with the French Pavilion marking the occasion with a splendid opening reception. During this special occasion, Wang Hsiu-Yin, Director of the Taipei Book Fair Foundation, was awarded the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by Franck Paris, Director of the French Office in Taipei, in recognition of her contributions to cultural exchange between France and Taiwan through TIBE.

The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including SERRES Josué, Head of Cultural and Academic Cooperation at the French Office in Taipei, Wu Yun-Yi, Chair of the Taipei Book Fair Foundation, as well as representatives from the publishing and diplomatic sectors, such as BIEF-France Bureau International de l'Edition Française, the Librairie Le Pigeonnier, and BNP Paribas Taiwan. Also present were French comic artist Christopher Boyd and Marco Lombardi, Representative of the Italian Economic, Trade, and Cultural Promotion Office.

Expressing her gratitude, Wang Hsiu-Yin highlighted nearly two decades of collaboration with the French Office in Taipei and BIEF-France Bureau International de l'Edition Française, during which France has been TIBE’s guest of honor four times. She emphasized the importance of fostering stronger cultural and publishing ties between France and Taiwan.

Wu Yun-Yi, Chair of the Taipei Book Fair Foundation, praised the long-standing mutual support between TIBE and France, describing it as a partnership that enhances both sides' strengths. She also commended Wang Hsiu-Yin’s leadership, stating that the foundation is honored to share in this recognition and looks forward to further strengthening cultural and publishing exchanges between Taiwan and France.
