With the support of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Frankfurt Book Fair has organized German publishing houses to collect nearly 250 of the latest German publications for the grand exhibition of the German Pavilion at the 2018 Taipei International Book Exhibition. These beautifully printed, well-designed books won the 2017 German Book Award. They include the latest children's books, writers' albums/ featuring issue for exhibition LOOK!, graphic novels, and general books. At the same time, Goethe-Institut Taipei has invited German professional publishers such as Carlsen and Piper as well as authors Martin Schäuble, Stephen Thome, and television producer Anja von Kampen to Taipei for the Taipei International Book Exhibition.

‘LOOK!’ exhibition from Germany made its debut in April 2016 when they were invited as Guest of Honor at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. 85 books were presented, including 30 works from illustrators with high potential and striving for international recognition, and 55 classics from world famous artists. The selected books cover a wide range of genres and aesthetic presentation, including children’s books, graphic novels, photographs, and drawings, etc. ‘LOOK!’ aims to present the whole scale of Germany’s contemporary illustrations as well as introducing new artists to the whole world.
